OVERVIEW

Email id: zoologypwc@gmail.com

The department of Zoology is one of the oldest departments of Providence Women’s College and was established in the year1957. It had the rare privilege of becoming the first science department of the college. This year (2017-2018) the department is celebrating its 60th anniversary. Sr. Ambrosia A.C., the first Head of the Department, had through her vibrant leadership, initiated the successful endeavours of the department and had laid a solid foundation for several conspicuous and illustrious achievements in the history of the department. With the introduction of choice based credit system the department moved to a more flexible and innovative space in terms of the form and content of the program. In addition, the department offers certificate course in ancillary areas. In 2010, the Department began to offer an add-on course in Sericulture for the undergraduate students.  The department works on a well defined vision and mission that are perfectly in agreement with the broader outline of the college vision.
