OVERVIEW

The Department of Business Administration (Self-financing unit) began in the year 2003-04. In this globalised era there exists a huge demand for young professionals with knowledge base in management, marketing & customer service. The BBA Course has the potential to produce young managers that can deliver results in the above domain. Initially the programme had 18 subjects till the introduction of the Credit Based Semester System in the year 2009-10 based on which the programme has now been revised with a view to widen its scope and significance. The programme also permits an exposure to Placement training & Project submission. 
 The Department takes every effort in the overall development of the students, be it moral, intellectual or academic. The Department equips the students to meet the requirements of the current business world. A good number of the students of the Department have been placed in various organizations in and around India. Students spread the glory of Providence in reputed companies such as Infosys Pune, HDFC, ICICI,Vodafone Cochin etc.

  • Ms. Keerthana scored seventh position in the University of Calicut results 2015
  • Ms. Thara.M.Rasheed scored second position in the University of Calicut results 2016
  • Ms. Asila Misbah, won several awards including the Best Manager and Best Contestant consecutively in the competitions organised by different educational institutions during the period 2014-2017.
  • Ms. Asila Misbah won first prize in the case study contest conducted by Govt. Law College, Calicut.
  • Ms. Asila Misbah won the third position in the Best Manager contest held at SAFI Institute of Management Studies.
  • Ashitha, Siya, Smriti, Deepa won the first position in the Marketing Game held at SAFI Institute of Management Studies.
  • Ms.Asila Misbah won the third prize in the Debate competition held at XIME College, Cochin.
  • Ashita, Deepa, Drishya and Smriti won the Second prize in the Marketing Game Competition conducted by University of Calicut.
  • Ms.Asila Misbah won  the second Prize for Best Manager.
  • Ms.Asila Misbah was one of the four finalists from among four hundred participants all over Kerala, for the “SPEAK FOR KERALA, INDIA” competition and received a cash prize of Rs. 25000/- from our Honorable Chief minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan.

Ms. Asila and Ms.Shraddha won the second prize in the Management Game held at St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPT. (LATEST)

CURRICULAR:

The department organized a talk on “Logistics management” on 17th July 2017. Renowned speaker Mr.Rajeesh Raghavan engaged the session.

CO-CURRICULAR:

• Group discussion regarding the Impact of GST on Indian Economy.
• An inter-departmental debate competition was held on the topic “Is G.S.T a Game Changer Or A Spoiler “ on 29th July 2017.

EXTENSION:

• The department conducted a talk on the “EFFECT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUTH” by Ragish Parakkott, civil police officer, on 5th July 2017, for parents and women of the neighbourhood.
